Zanny and Marge
aged 28 and 55
ZANNY & MARGE are an outgoing and enthusiastic couple with a wonderful sense of humour and fun and a warm, loving relationship. They have been together for nine years and support each other 100 per cent. Zanny and Marge have many interests. They have travelled extensively and are family members of Historic Scotland, the National Trust and English Heritage. They also take a keen interest in their local community, especially with regards to conservation.
Zanny and Marge live in a large five-bedroomed family home with a very large enclosed garden. All amenities are within walking distance and their home is situated within a 450-acre conservation area, which contains parks, picnic areas, a boating lake, an amphitheatre, a young children’s theme park and many other recreational and educational treasures. Rainbows, Brownies, Cubs and Scouts groups are nearby, as are youth clubs, riding schools and a school of theatre and dance.
In 2006, Zanny and Marge made a life-changing decision to give up successful professional careers and offer a sibling group a safe and loving family home, in which they could all grow up together. They moved back to Shropshire to be among family and friends who can provide a good support network.
One of the couple’s assets is their empathy with children and young people. Zanny and Marge believe in addressing challenging behaviour through positive means, rather than punishment, such as listening, fun, sports and any activities that can ignite a child or young person’s imagination. They also feel that, in their experience, keeping children and young people interested, active and busy with shared activities and lots of enthusiasm and optimism is the way forward to developing a rounded, caring individual – however long it may take.
ZANNY is a warm, kind, outgoing person who is a high achiever academically, as well as a gifted sportsman. He is an excellent motivator and is able to help both children and young people to achieve their full potential. Zanny has a very likeable personality, and his excellent sense of humour makes him popular with all.
MARGE is a very vibrant woman who always has a positive outlook. She has worked with children and young people all over the world for the last 30 years, including 14 years as a youth worker. Marge has the ability to be on children and young people’s wavelengths, and interacts very well with all age ranges. As an adopted person herself, she has empathy with children in care. Marge has two grown-up children, who now live independently and support her decision to foster.
