Step one: Read some important information

  • Many social workers refer children to both the Be My Parent newspaper and Be My Parent online, so if you subscribe to both services, you may notice a crossover. However, children’s profiles on the website go ‘live’ sooner than they appear in the newspaper, as this takes more time to produce: the pages need to be laid out, checked and proofread, then the paper printed and distributed. Online profiles also tend to be longer and more detailed, as there isn’t an issue of space. This can mean extra photographs, and, in some cases, a video clip, all of which helps bring a child to life. Some people like the newspaper, however, as it is portable and you can read it on the go! It's a matter of choice - and you can subscribe to both.
  • Although you do not need a satisfactory CRB check by an adoption or fostering agency to view the children’s profiles on this website, you will have access to a greater number of profiles if you do have one.
  • Please note that the children featured on this site are 'in care' in the UK and are available for placement in the UK only.
