Family Care’s adoption information evenings offer a gentle introduction to anyone thinking about adopting as well as giving people the opportunity to meet with the team and their adopters. Just some of the feedback they had in 2014:

Drop-in information session Dundee

Could you give a child a family for life, through adoption or fostering? Dundee City Council are holding a drop-in information session at Charleston Community Centre, Dundee on 28 January between 10am and 12 noon. Go along to talk with their foster carers, adopters and social work staff about their experiences of fostering and adoption. Exploring adoption events - Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, North Wales

After Adoption are a voluntary adoption agency providing adoption support services for people at every stage of their adoption journey. The 'Families that Last' team assesses and approves adopters across the North West, North Wales, Leeds and Yorkshire and the Midlands. Go along to their Exploring Adoption event to meet the team and find out more about the process and the children who are waiting. They will also be able to tell you about the highly-recommended post-adoption support services they offer, including SafeBase, a therapeutic parenting support programme. It is an informal event and you can just drop in, or give them a call in advance and they can send you an information pack.

Reading adoption and fostering information evenings, Reading

Parents and Children Together (PACT) runs informal evenings for couples or individuals interested in adoption or fostering. Each event is led by a PACT social worker and will include a talk from someone who has adopted or fostered through PACT.

Staffordshire County Council Adoption Information Meeting

Staffordshire County Council are holding adoption sessions providing information about adopting with them and what it is really like. The sessions are friendly, relaxed and are led by their specialised social workers. Go along, take all the information away with you and just listen. There's also the option to have a confidential chat with one of their social workers.

London Borough of Barking and Dagenham adoption information event

Take your first step with London Borough of Barking and Dagenham's adoption team, who are holding an adoption information event on Saturday 24 January 2015 from 2pm to 4pm. Meet social workers and an adoptive parent and have all your questions answered.
