Information evenings for foster carers in Harrow

Parents and Children Together (PACT) runs informal evenings for couples or individuals interested in adoption or fostering. Each event is led by a PACT social worker and will include a talk from someone who has adopted or fostered through PACT.

They are looking for carers to provide emergency, short term and permanent accommodation and care for children from a diverse range of backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures and religions. The Tameside Fostering Unit is looking to recruit foster carers with high levels of commitment, time and a good understanding of children’s needs.
They currently need placements for children aged 0 - 17 years of age from a diverse range of backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures and religions. They are particularly looking for black and mixed heritage foster carers. Some of their children have complex needs due to their early life experiences.

Greater Manchester foster carer recruitment events
The National Fostering Agency is recruiting foster carers across Greater Manchester now. If you are interested in finding out how you can make a difference to a child’s life, then why not attend one of our open days and take the first step into becoming a foster carer.
Children who come into care need a warm and safe family environment in which they can grow and achieve their full potential. Becoming a foster carer is the first step you can take to make a real difference to a child or young person’s life.
As a foster carer you will need...
• To have the time and energy to invest in a child or young person
• To be flexible and non-judgemental, a well as patient and understanding
• To have a minimum of one spare bedroom for a child
• To undertake the fostering role in a full-time capacity
The National Fostering Agency is one of the most established independent fostering agencies in the country, committed to providing quality care for the children placed with us. We provide professional training for all our carers, who will also receive support from our highly qualified staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, NFA carers receive a generous tax-free allowance (Subject to status).

LGBT Fostering and Adoption with Stockton Borough Council drop-in event
If you’re lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender and thinking about starting a family, go along to the drop-in event and get information about fostering and adoption with Stockton Council. Social workers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have around the process and the support available to you, and there will also be an opportunity to meet LGBT families who can share their experiences of fostering and adoption.
