Where can I get advice if my child has been, or is going to be, adopted?

If your child has been, or is going to be, adopted...

If you are the parent of a child who is going to be adopted and you don't consent (agree) to the adoption, you should get legal advice as soon as possible.

The Family Rights Group provides advice and support for families whose children are involved with social services.

The Natural Parents Network is a national contact and support organisation for birth parents whose children have been placed for adoption.

You also might like to order a copy of the BAAF Advice Note 'If your child is being adopted'. BAAF Advice Notes for birth families

You could also contact your country or regional BAAF office for further information and advice.
