Focus groups
From time to time we hold focus groups to help us test and improve our service. If you would like to be involved, please let us know.
Tell your story
Be My Parent’s News & Features rely on real-life stories of people whose lives have been touched by adoption or fostering. Please contact us if you have a story to share. Even if you do not want your real name or photograph published, we can still use your story to help and inspire others.
BAAF always needs stories from people affected by adoption or fostering to use in media campaigns such as National Adoption Week.
Find out more and contact the BAAF media team.
Fundraising and donating
Your donations make a big difference! £20 could help Be My Parent respond to ten calls from potential adoptive parents - last year the team took over 13,000 calls - and £50 could support our health programme for children, ensuring GPs and nurses get the right advice, training and support to look after children in care. Donate to BAAF
Fundraising for BAAF can take many forms. You can skydive, take part in a running or trekking event, hold a coffee morning or car boot sale, or simply donate your old mobile phone to us. Fundraise for BAAF
Volunteering
If you feel that adoption or fostering is not right for you at this stage, there are other ways you can help. You might want to consider finding out about voluntary work and befriending schemes from your local council. Many local authorities have independent visitor schemes for children in care who have little or no contact with their family. For more details, contact your local council.
National Adoption Week
National Adoption Week is a UK-wide annual campaign organised by BAAF in collaboration with adoption and fostering agencies across the UK. It aims to raise awareness about adoption and encourage more people to consider adopting a child.
