Foster Care Fortnight: Monday 14 - Sunday 27 May

Foster Care Fortnight is the Fostering Network's annual campaign to raise awareness about fostering and recruit new foster carers.

To conincide with Foster Care Fortnight, BAAF has launched a new video, 'A Foster Care Film'.

Be a Hillingdon foster carer - ordinary people doing extraordinary things!

Being a foster carer means giving children and young people from a variety of backgrounds a safe, stable and comfortable home where they can stay for as long as they need to. The London Borough of Hillingdon is currently recruiting people from all backgrounds who live or work in the borough or surrounding area to become foster carers.

If you think you can provide a child a home, they can offer you excellent training, professional support and a financial package up to £388 a week for each child in your care.

Join them at their monthly Fostering Information Evenings taking place on the following Tuesdays in 2012, 6:30 - 8:30pm: 12 June, 10 July, 14 August, 11 September, 9 October, 13 November, 11 December at the Civic Centre, High Street, Uxbridge, UB8 1UW

Camden open information evenings

If you are curious about becoming a foster carer and want to find out more, or are ready to take the next step, why not go along to one of the evenings organised by Camden?

Events will be held on the following Thursdays: 7 June, 12 July, 6 September, 4 October, 1 November, 6 December

All events are held from 5.30pm until 7pm (please arrive before 5.45pm) at the Crowndale Centre, Camden Council, TDC Conference Room, 2nd Floor, 218 Eversholt Street, London NW1 1BD.

Barnardo’s Family Placement Unit and Disability Service is looking to recruit foster carers in the North East region. They are looking for carers to provide emergency, short term and permanent accommodation and care for children from a diverse range of backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures and religions. Barnardo's has over 30 years experience of placing children with families. They offer excellent support and training and generous financial assistance.

Do you live in the Tameside area and have the skills to foster?

The Tameside Fostering Unit is looking to recruit foster carers with high levels of commitment, time and a good understanding of children’s needs.

They currently need placements for children aged 0 - 17 years of age from a diverse range of backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures and religions. They are particularly looking for black and mixed heritage foster carers. Some of their children have complex needs due to their early life experiences.
