Where can I get advice if my child has been, or is going to be, adopted?

Adoption support groups and legal advice for birth families

If you are the parent of a child who is going to be adopted and you do not consent to the adoption, you should get legal advice as soon as possible.

The Family Rights Group provides advice and support for families whose children are involved with social services.

The Natural Parents' Network is a national contact and support organisation for birth parents whose children have been placed for adoption.

You might also like to order a copy of the BAAF Advice Note If your child is being adopted.

You could also contact your country or regional BAAF office for further information and advice.
