SUSAN & COLIN
(not their real names) are sister and brother with a close bond. Susan seems a confident and questioning child who likes to go swimming and attend basketball practice. Colin has a ready smile and cheeky sense of humour. He likes going to parks and playing on his bike and scooter.
IMRAN
Age: 2 years
is an engaging and vocal boy who loves one-to-one contact. He likes being sung nursery rhymes, will hold people’s hands while they are clapping, and enjoys blowing raspberries and babbling. Imran has Down’s syndrome, some visual impairment and delayed development. However, he is able to sit unsupported and has started bearing weight, with support, since becoming looked after.

is a very bright, healthy and alert baby boy who is usually always happy and smiley. He enjoys lots of face-to-face contact and attention and loves long, warm baths with his toys. Jonathan is content and settled in his foster home. He is developing very well and meeting all his milestones.
LAURENCE
Age: 1 year
is a bouncy and lively little boy who is bright, alert and sociable. He likes being outdoors, going for walks in his buggy, or for trips in the car. Laurence is thriving and physically big for his age. He is strong willed and inquisitive and likes to explore his environment. Laurence is meeting his developmental milestones.
NATHAN & CHRISTOPHER
are brothers with a close relationship. Nathan and Christopher are affectionate and their carers find them rewarding to look after. Nathan is a very sociable child who enjoys a wide range of activities, both physical and more quiet, creative ones. Christopher is a quiet yet sociable boy who likes art and crafts, making and listening to music, and singing.
JEROME
Age: 5 years
is an engaging and friendly boy who enjoys playing with cars and trains. He also likes TV programmes such as Tom and Jerry and The Simpsons. Jerome’s carers describe him as a sociable, happy child who is full of smiles. He is popular at school, where he is making progress and enjoys reading a range of books.
DAVID
Age: 7 years
loves to watch SpongeBob SquarePants and play with wrestling figures. He has some developmental delay following lack of care, but has made great progress since coming to live with his foster carers in Summer 2006. He has a lovely nature and everyone that meets him finds him endearing.
OLIVER
Age: 3 years
not his real name, is an affectionate little boy who likes football, remote-controlled cars and music. He is proud of his appearance and developing independent skills. Though initially shy around other children, he will interact with encouragement. Like children his age, Oliver can have tantrums though responds well to boundaries at nursery.
JOHN
Age: 1 year
is an engaging toddler who is keen on be up on his feet and running about. He loves physical contact and will seek his carers out just for cuddles! John’s birth parents have a history of drug misuse and it is possible that he may have experienced drug withdrawal symptoms. However, he is meeting his developmental milestones.
LUKE
Age: 8 years
has a lively character and good sense of humour. He is loving, sensitive and keen to please others. Luke enjoys physical activities and playing with cars. Because of events in his early childhood, he has moderate learning difficulties and some attachment difficulties. Luke now needs a loving and permanent family, in which he can feel safe and secure.
JAMARIO
Age: 3 years
is an affectionate, loving boy who is a pleasure to care for. He is settled and thriving. Jamario is keen on playing football, and also likes watching it on TV with his carers. He has moderate autism, and shows signs of developmental delay. When praised, Jamario gets excited and claps.
KASEY
Age: 8 years
is a lively and energetic child. She loves crafts, drawing, having ‘tea parties’ with her dolls, music and singing. Kasey can find changes to her routine difficult, but responds well to explanations, praise, reward charts and ‘time out’. She has cerebral palsy and receives ongoing support, including speech therapy and ankle splints to help with her walking.
LIAM
Age: 6 years
is a likeable, sociable and active boy who gets on well with other children. He is a keen footballer and would like an adoptive dad to share his outdoor activities with him. Liam has some attachment difficulties, and will probably need some future therapeutic support. He enjoys school, where he is progressing well.
OLIVER, MICHAEL & KEVIN
are described as lovable, affectionate, sociable and happy boys. Oliver is a chatty boy who likes to have fun. Michael is a very bright boy who learns quickly. Kevin presents as a calm and smiley little boy who particularly enjoys eating children’s yoghurts! They all need a lot of love, flexibility and attention.
ADAM & ZOE
are brother and sister with a good relationship to each other and their foster carers. Adam loves football and remote control cars. Zoe enjoys playing house with her dolls and teddies and jumping on the trampoline. They both say they want their own room and to have swimming lessons!
BRADLEY
Age: 4 years
is an energetic and fun-loving boy. He loves to dress up as Batman or SpiderMan, play outdoors on the swing and slide, and he enjoys music and singing. Brad has learning difficulties and some behaviours on the autistic spectrum. However, he is making developmental progress and is able to give and receive affection.
TARELLE
Age: 1 year
is a giggly, smiley and content baby boy who thrives on attention. He really loves listening to music, and when it is on the television, he will dance right in front of the screen! Tarelle responds really well to his carer, and has developed a secure attachment to both her and her son.
JOHN
Age: 5 years
is a mischievous, affectionate and happy little boy. His social worker says he is "an amazing little boy who enjoys life to the full... and has his own quirky personality". John is on the autistic spectrum, which his carer says “is manageable within a family home with support and lots of love.”
AWA
Age: 10 years
is an extremely sociable and engaging child with a friendly nature and keen sense of humour. She has an ataxic form of cerebral palsy, and can have some difficulty with balance and jerky movements. However, Awa has made great progress with her mobility skills, and approaches all activities with enthusiasm.
RHYS & ALYSHA
are half-brother and sister who share a very close relationship. They have also formed good relationships with their foster carers, with whom they have lived since becoming looked after in Autumn 2006. Rhys and Alysha are described by their carers as adorable children with a great sense of humour.
LEWIS
Age: 1 year
is a delightful, lively, engaging, fun and active child who responds to lots of stimulation. He enjoys exploring his environment and likes playing with toys, especially musical ones. Lewis is described by his foster carers as a sociable and happy child who is full of smiles.
AMADU & ADRIAL
are brother and sister who ideally need to be placed together. Amadu is a sociable and active little boy who enjoys the company of other children and spending time at his foster carers’ seaside caravan. Adrial is a contented and observant girl who always wants to be part of what is going on around her.
DEVAN, TAYLOR & KELSEY
are sisters and brother with good sibling attachments. They are currently placed in two separate families, but ideally need to be adopted together. Devan is an affectionate girl who loves family outings and imaginary play. Taylor is a bright boy with a spontaneous sense of humour. Kelsey is a loving little girl who enjoys playing with her dolls and pram.
JAY
Age: 2 years
is an attentive child who enjoys being in his pushchair and rolling around the floor. He has Down’s syndrome and Hirschsprung’s disease, a condition that affects the bowel. Jay benefits from a high level of support, including a feeding regime, occupational therapy and speech therapy. His carers describe him as a content baby who is a joy to care for.
LEWIS
Age: 9 years
is a well-mannered, active and entertaining boy, full of curiosity about everything. He loves cars, football, reading, computer games and Doctor Who. Lewis’s development is age appropriate, though several changes of school have affected his education. He really wants to be adopted and wants a family who will put him first and look after him properly.
MOHAMMED
Age: 2 years
is a lovable, friendly and smiley little boy. His favourite toy is the guitar and he loves listening to and dancing to music. Mohammed is very energetic and he likes to play outdoors and with other children. He has settled well into his foster family’s routine. There are no concerns about Mohammed’s development.
CHERISE
Age: 1 year
is a bubbly little girl who is independent and inquisitive. She is described by her foster carer as warm, sociable, bouncy, happy and affectionate. Cherise is an active girl who loves music and starts to dance when it’s playing. She regularly attends story time at a local library and seems to be adding new words to her vocabulary daily!
JESSE JAMES & DENIM
are brothers who have always lived together. JJ tries to comfort Denim when he seems unsettled, but can be jealous if Denim gets attention! Both were treated for drug withdrawal at birth. JJ likes trains, cars and books and is healthy. Denim has a visual impairment but responds to sounds and light changes by gurgling!
RAMAL
Age: 9 months
loves attention and will immediately laugh when someone looks at him! He is happy and contented and rarely cries. Ramal sleeps and eats well and is meeting all his developmental milestones.
Chloe, John Paul and Ethan
CHLOE, JOHN PAUL & ETHAN
are sister and brothers who have strong attachments to each other, with the odd squabble! They all love outdoor pursuits, are sociable and affectionate, and have the ability to make attachments. All three children enjoy exploring new places and have frequently holidayed in rural France, which they love.
CODY & SHANNELL
are twin brother and sister who are increasingly enjoying playing with each other. They have made great progress since joining their current carer, though their behaviour can still be challenging. Cody is diagnosed with autism and has limited speech, though making progress. Shannell is a lively ‘typical girl’, whose speech difficulties are also improving.
RUBEN
Age: 2 years
is an active, engaging and fun-loving little boy who makes friends easily. He also enjoys sitting down quietly playing a game or going through a picture book. Ruben’s carer says that there is never a dull moment with him around because he is inquisitive and enjoys learning new things!
JOHN
Age: 11 months
is described as a content and happy child who is easy to look after. His real name and photograph cannot be used in the profile. John is walking around furniture, likes noisy toys and books, and playing with his carers cats and dogs! He has a heart murmur but doesn’t require treatment.
NADIA
Age: 8 years
is a sociable, energetic and affectionate girl. She has a bubbly personality and is friendly, inquisitive and helpful. Nadia enjoys swimming, dancing, Brownies, reading, music and computer games. She missed her reception year at school and is currently behind her peers. However, Nadia is a bright child and should catch up in a consistent and supportive environment.
ASAIR
Age: 1 year
thrives on attention, loves to be held, and is easily soothed by his carer’s voice. He shows pleasure by smiling, and his face lights up when someone is playing with him! However, Asair’s motor and cognitive skills are likely to be significantly impaired. He has a healthy and positive attachment to his foster carer.
CONNOR & ALFRED
are brothers with a close relationship. Connor is an outgoing, friendly and curious boy who enjoys drawing, playing with his K’NEX construction toys, cookery and playing on the computer. Alfred, known as Alfie, is an energetic and inquisitive little boy who likes to make noises and running commentaries, especially when playing with his cars and trains!
KAI
Age: 7 years
is an active boy who is happiest when running around. He enjoys physical sports and activities, such as football, swimming and cycling. Kai can find it difficult to sit still and has recently been diagnosed as having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). He is a healthy boy who is otherwise developing normally for his age.
LEO
Age: 4 years
loves being in the garden, where he enjoys kicking a football, riding his bike, or playing with his toy cars. He is energetic, boisterous and full of mischief. Leo is very fond of dogs and enjoys taking his carers’ dogs for walks. He also likes drawing and looking at books for a few minutes at a time.
SAPPHIRE
Age: 7 years
is a bright, sociable and confident child with a sensitive, loving and affectionate nature. She needs a stable and loving family environment, where she can continue to thrive. Sapphire loves swimming, dancing and singing with the school choir. She enjoys school, where she is making good progress and getting full marks for her spelling tests.
KIERAN
Age: 7 years
is a lively boy who thrives on outdoor activities such as football, bike riding, skateboarding and trampolining. He also likes reading and jigsaw puzzles. Due to his experiences in early life, Kieran does have complex needs and seeks a lot of attention. He needs strong boundaries. Kieran can be a very loving child who thrives on praise.
JORDAN & CHARLOTTE
are sister and brother who are close, despite the odd sibling squabble. Jordan is sensitive and caring with a good sense of humour. He loves football, trains and the London Underground! Jordan has mild autism. Charlotte is a fun-loving, affectionate and energetic girl. She loves playing ‘mummies and daddies’, Playdough and reading.
RACHEL
Age: 10 years
is a friendly and lively girl who enjoys going to the park, riding her bicycle, skating and drawing. Her carers describe her as “an angel” and “a very polite and considerate girl”. Although Rachel can find it hard to verbalise her feelings and sometimes expresses them through destructive behaviour towards her belongings, she describes herself as “jolly”.
AIDAN, BROOKLYN & MATTHEW
are brothers who are currently placed separately but need to be adopted together. Aidan is an easygoing child whose favourite toys are his skateboard and Nintendo Wii. Brooklyn is sociable with people he knows, and loves cuddles and kisses. Matthew is alert and crawling. He is affectionate, and will coo and giggle when spoken to.
SIENNA
Age: 1 year
is a smiley baby who likes being active and having the freedom to explore her environment. She laughs when she is tickled, enjoys music and loves to sing while playing. Sienna has just started to crawl. She is very sociable and likes the company of adults and children.
